EVP Electronic Voice Phenomena

Electronic Voice Phenomenon or EVP for short are recordings of voices or sounds that are not heard with the human ear. They are first discovered when the recording is played back. These voices and sounds are not from people or animals present at the time of the recording. They are also not radio communications. Let us repeat that: they are not recordings of radio communications. This fact will disturb some people but let us explain.

The PRG-HH uses dictation devices without any means of intercepting radio signals. They record only speech frequencies (300Hz to 4KHz). Our ears are also tuned to this spectrum. Of course, this is logical. Otherwise we would not hear each other or our recordings.

The PRG-HH dictation devices are built for microphone recordings only. A microphone vibrates to these frequencies and turns them into electrical charges which are then sampled with 44KHz creating a digital signal and this is saved. The recording has also CD Quality. By playback, is this process reversed and the electrical pulses are fed to a speaker producing „Sound“. This characteristic is important when it comes to analyzing the recording. Radio reception is not possible. Many critics are of the opinion that that recorded EVPs are nothing more than received radio stations. But with our dictation devices it is not physically or in Physics possible.

Speech and music are between 300 Hertz and 4,000 Hertz. These frequencies are much too low to transmit and travel any distance regardless of the signal strength (Watts). One needs a carrier signal. The carrier signal is higher than than the frequency for the

Information (speech, data or music). The information is modulated (AM, FM, etc.), practically interlaced, into the carrier signal and then transmitted over an antenna. In order to receive these radio signals, it is necessary to have an antenna cut to the frequency spectrum being received, a receiver tuned for the exact carrier frequency and a Demodulation circuit to retrieve the information out of the carrier signal. The first radio signal containing speech or music is ca. 137KHz, Long Wave Radio, but the information (speech or music) is modulated in this carrier signal and it is impossible to hear them without the necessary antenne, receiver and Demodulation circuit.Radio stations use much higher carrier frequencies but the principle is the same.

Even if it was possible for the Information to separate itself naturally from the carrier frequency, which it can’t, our ears wold be bombarded with conversations and music from radio stations, amateur rdaio stations, aviation- police-, ship-, and emergency calls on a daily basis just by standing outdoors and listening. Thank Goodness that this is not possible! When using dictation devices with cassettes, it is always necessary to use new cassettes in order to avoid overlapping recordings.

The very first EVPs were recorded using reel to reel recorders and researchers at the time thought that EVPs resulted because the magnetic band and the magnetic recording process. Because of the success of recording EVPs using digital, electronic dictation devices today, this theory has been disproved.

The PRG-HH is only interested in recordings/EVPs that are clear and distinct without amplification, filtering or manipulation. We have also experimented with “White Noise” and hearing amplifiers but we have yet to retrieve an EVP with better quality or frequency than our normal recordings. We have found no difference in quality or frequency between recording in Stereo or Mono. We have often received direct answers to our questions. Are these messages from the afterlife? Can ghosts contact us? We believe so. But there has yet to be a logical, scientific explanation as to how it is done. We will continue to examine this fascinating field.
